Keiko Mecheri is an American niche perfume house founded in California by Keiko and Kamel Mecheri. Originally operating under the name Bazaar des Senteurs, the company's initial focus consisted of body care products and scented candles. With the introduction of three scents—Hanae, Te En and Loukhoum—the company emphasis changed to perfumes. Loukhoum, inspired by the popular confection of the same name, was tremendously successful and remains a cult favorite and best-seller for the house, who along with the change in product focus changed its company name to Keiko Mecheri. Keiko was born in Atami, Japan—an area often referred to as the "Japanese Riviera" for its pleasant climate and beautiful natural scenery. She is an artist and pianist by training. Her studies in the arts at UCLA and in Europe eventually led her down the path of perfumery. Perfumes in the collection are developed based on fine art principles and feature the highest-quality ingredients. The company operates completely independently, from its Beverly Hills location. The company has issued several collections to date, including Loukhoum, Les Orientals, Rares Epices (Rare Spices), Cuir (Leather), Les Soliflores (perfumes focused on individual floral notes), Les Eaux Tendres (Tender Water), Les Eaux Fraiches (Fresh Water) and Vintage. The newest collection, La Collection Hesperides (Citrus Collection) was launched in 2009. Designer Keiko Mecheri has 75 perfumes in our fragrance base. The earliest edition was created in 1998 and the newest is from 2024. Keiko Mecheri fragrances were made in collaboration with perfumers Yann Vasnier and Keiko Mecheri.
