Gritti

This is a niche perfumery from Venice founded in 2010 by Luca Gritti. Dr. Gritti ‘s fragrances evoke exotic settings such as Antalya and Damascus. His predecessor, Alvise [aka Ludovico, aka Luigi] Gritti’s father served as Venetian ambassador to the Ottoman court – and Alvise grew up in Istanbul. His line of eaux de parfums, which feel much more like extrait [there are five in all] - reflect Venice’s leading role in the 16th C. Spice Trade, yet maintain their ability to captivate today’s audience. The tale of these parfums, so deftly woven - swarms around Alvise Gritti: Venetian adventurer, alchemist, scholar and merchant, who never let scruples interfere with commerce. Alvise has been the subject of much historical scrutiny, including a Harvard thesis entitled : The life of Alvise Gritti (1480-1534) in the Ottoman Empire, 1999, Suzan Ayşe Yalman. Designer Gritti has 58 perfumes in our fragrance base. Gritti is a new fragrance brand. The earliest edition was created in 2010 and the newest is from 2024. The nose who worked on the fragrances is Luca Gritti.
