Dawn Spencer Hurwitz is a true underground force in niche perfumery. She (as DSH Perfumes) has developed many innovative concept perfumes and worked with top designers to consult and create exclusive perfumes. Beginning her career as a painter, Dawn came to perfumery in 1991 while working at Boston's famed ESSENSE Perfumery (on posh Newbury Street). She developed her talent for creating perfumes based on fine art principles, and since the early nineties, began developing her innovative lines of ready-to-wear artisan perfumes under her own label. She also launched a line of works at the former Barneys New York / Tokyo with Japanese design partners Undulate Labs. She has consulted for niche marketers such as Flora Napa Valley, Calypso, Jules & Jane, and Zents Spa Collection. She recevied an Art and Olfaction award in 2019 for her work on the fragrance Colorado with American Perfumer. She has also been a finalist in the awards in 2015 and 2017. Dawn's developed Limited Editions by Parfums des Beaux Arts, a concept line within DSH: It is a way to be continually challenged, by designing and expanding her horizons, and making her statements; these are Dawn's own signature scents; her personal favorites inspired by art, artists, literature and the gorgeous world around us. All of her creations are available online at dshperfumes.com as well as at select retail outlets and Dawn’s own Essense Studio in Boulder, Colorado, where she is based. Designer DSH Perfumes has 301 perfumes in our fragrance base. DSH Perfumes is a new fragrance brand. The earliest edition was created in 2008 and the newest is from 2022. The nose who worked on the fragrances is Dawn Spencer Hurwitz.
